Description of project: Ongoing project – “Educational support to underprivileged Children”

Implementing Agency: 2 years (24 months) towards the educational support to 500 children in one school over two years at Haridwar District, Uttarakhand.

Objectives:
  • To transform existing school to exemplar centres that will set high standards in their locations for others to emulate in two backward locations of the country
  • To provide high quality holistic education to children
  • To facilitate them to emerge as productive assets and set the foundation for nation building.
  • To build sustainable systems with full community support.
Activity Description:
  • Capacity Building of Project Staff / Personnel - Training of Teachers/Mentors on an ongoing basis.
  • Classroom Teaching Learning – Regular classes will be conducted for the students in the identified education centre.
  • Support Co-curricular Expertise of Students – Art and Craft, Dance & Music and Sports, etc.
  • Environment Education – Handling waste, tree plantation etc.
  • Celebration of Important Days – Like Republic Day, World Environment Day, Independence Day, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, etc.
  • Intra School Competitions – It is planned to organise inter-school completion so that students can build confidence by participating with students of other schools as well.
  • Focus on soft skills – The main focus will be given to impart soft skills among the students. Special sessions on Life Skills, Menstrual Hygiene, Gender etc. have been planned and will be executed once the schools reopen.
  • Exposure visits – To be conducted regularly as an on-going activity
